Why dairy farmers of America?

At Dairy Farmers of America, we're proud to share the simple pleasures of real dairy straight from our family farms. And because our Cooperative is owned by our farmers, they're personally invested in every product, decision and step we take as an organization.

How do I apply for the gold standard dairy program?

Contact your Area office. DFA's Gold Standard Dairy Program, one of the first in the industry, is an on-farm evaluation program that assesses our more than 7,000 family-owned dairy farms on the areas of animal care, environmental stewardship, employee safety and training, and milk safety and quality.

What is a DFA cares food bank?

Food banks must be registered 501 (c) (3) organizations to receive DFA Cares funds. DFA is made up of more than 12,500 diverse family farmers from across the country. And while their family traditions vary from one farm to the next, some things are always the same — like their commitment to the land, their animals and the families they feed.

What is the young dairy farmers of America (YC) program?

The YC program is open to DFA members ages 18 to 40 who play an active role on their operations. Talk to your Area office to learn more. We believe in the future of dairy.

What does DFA certification mean?

Certification: DFA requires that our direct suppliers confirm that the materials used in the products purchased by DFA comply with the laws regarding slavery and human trafficking by including standard compliance terms in DFA’s Terms and Conditions of Purchase; DFA’s Vendor Quality Expectation Manual; and DFA’s Supplier Code of Conduct.

What is DFA training?

Training: DFA conducts periodic training to educate and train employees with direct responsibility for supply chain management on the risks of slavery and human trafficking and ways to mitigate those risks specific to DFA’s supply chain.

Field Staff

DFA has a talented staff of field representatives who work directly with members to address milk quality, herd management practices and animal well-being. Representatives regularly visit every farm and are always available to answer questions. To find the field representatives in your Area, contact your Area office.
